MAYA HART

Maya grew up in the poor parts of New York. In this verse, she doesn’t meet Riley, Farkle etc - doesn’t go to the same school as them, but to one more for those who fall under the same class as her. Maya Hart, born to Katy and Kermit Hart, in New York because her mother was wanting to follow her dreams - but, her dreams fell short when she wasn’t getting roles, and fell pregnant with Maya. Her parents were constantly arguing, and one night - her father left without coming back - which forced Katy to move. She couldn’t afford to live in New York with a baby - so, instead of going back home to Arkansaw, Katy re-homed them into Hawkins, Indiana. It was a small town, affordable for Katy - who picked up a job at the local diner. Maya was four when this moved happened. Maya grew up in the Trailer Park of Hawkins, being babysat by the neighbouring Trailer, by a Ms Taylor who was too old and whose family left her alone, she loved young Maya, when she wasn’t at school.Maya struggled in school, and this really showed when she barely passed her classes - then, coming Senior - she failed too many and she wasn’t able to Graduate. So, in 86, she’s repeating her second year of High School, despite the fact that she doesn’t like school.
Often at times, Maya will be found in the school’s art room, of which she has stolen a few supplies so she could work on things at home.She works part time at the local Skating Rink, Hawkins Skates, so she can have some cash for food, art supplies and weed.The Older Maya got, the less Katy was home - always saying she was old enough to not need a babysitter anymore, this started when she was 12 years old and Ms Taaylor had passed away. A resentment grew within Maya for her mother, for barely being around. This causes her to rebel and often in school would snark out teachers - which honestly didn’t help with her grades if she were honest. She knows something is going on within Hawkins - but doesn’t know where to start with asking for it. But, if she knew - she’d want to help out.In school, Maya despite not playing Dungeons and Dragons, befriended Hellfire and would often be found defending them, she calls them nerds affectionately, and if anyone calls them that as an insult, Maya is swinging. She is protective over all the members and sometimes likes sitting in on games, where she will draw the scene being played. Katy was an actress who made it big when she got her first big role on a popular TV show, which then started getting her more roles, in TV and in Movies. In her mid twenties, Katy fell pregnant with her daughter Maya, with her then husband and old high school sweetheart, Kermit. Katy’s pregnancy was written into the show and well, Katy never stopped acting.Maya’s parents often fought a lot, until one night, her father just left without a word, and it left a young Maya wondering where her father went. It was just the start of her issues with her parents. Katy hired a nanny for Maya after Kermit left, for when Katy wasn't home.Acting wasn’t something that Maya liked doing, but she did it because it made her mother happy, and every role Maya has had, she had been given it. She’s been an extra in a lot of her mother’s works, and her mother even got her guest appearances in TV shows, thinking that is what her daughter wanted, but she didn’t. Maya deep down just wanted her mother, so she played her part. Despite not liking acting, she sure as hell could put on the show.She was sent to a public school, where she made friends she got along well with. When she was fourteen, her mother stopped paying for a Nanny, and Maya was left in her home alone a lot from there.At Fifteen, Maya started modelling and found that she enjoyed that alongside her art classes she was taking in high school. Though, high school was a struggle for Maya as she tried too, but it was hard when her mother would get her gigs and she would have to leave and go do them, finding it hard to say no to her mother - just wanting her mother to see her as more than just another part for acting. Because to Maya, the one role that Katy can’t play is a mother, a real mother and not the ones she plays on TV.Managing to graduate High School, Maya is now modelling and making art on the side. Maya Hart, born to Katy and Kermit Hart in the little town of Shadyside, where Murders and Crime are high. When she was younger, she heard her parents fighting until one night when she was five years old and her father never came back home. Her mother threw herself into her work, barley being home, leaving Maya to fend for herself.Maya wasn’t good at school, and the only thing she excelled in was the arts. Her bad grades served as fights between her and her mother. Her mother saying she wants her daughter to work hard to get out of this shitty town, but doesn’t seem to understand that the subjects don’t interest Maya, so she just does the bare minimum in the classes.A lot of the time, Maya is found in the Art room, painting away or just drawing, hating the rest of the classes.Her best friend was another Shadysider, Lucas Friar who had a lot of anger issues - but his father moved them to Sunnyvale when an altercation got too much, and Maya lost her friend.That same year, a Sunnyvale tutor named Farkle often came by her little rundown home to look at her work. It was known around Shadyside that he came to help tutor for either Money or Drugs. So long as there was payment. He would always leave her home with one of her artworks, and she’d have one of his lighters.Shadyside sucks, but Maya is stuck there and she knows it and feels it in her bones - until the day the curse is lifted, she felt hope for once rise in her - especially because her mother actually for once listened to her and about her goals.

FARKLE MINKUS

Farkle, the school genius. The rich kid. But, one label no one ever really thought would fit the dorky, hyperactive nerd was - stoner or addict.He was always known as the smart kid, the geek, the nerd. Those labels never really bothered him - okay, they did. High school started and he and Isadora were going strong. He projected a perfect life for his friends, so that no one really knew of how truly broken he was.His parents were barely around, leaving him to fend for himself and his siblings - being the older brother wasn’t all it was cracked up to be when your parents are barely around. Always out on business trips, so it comes to no surprise that they don’t notice how thin their child is becoming. Or noticing anything really unless someone else brings it to their attention.
Slowly, his relationship with Smackle came to an end - it was a little mutual.At sixteen, Farkle found himself hang out with some newer friends as well as his original group. It’s because of these friends, that he started to smoke. And, if someone says that he was pressured into it - he’d tell you he was just curious, and the habit just stuck. He has always been curious about this and that, so why is it hard to believe?
This is how he found himself trying many things, like alcohol, pot and even pills.Even through all this, Farkle still gets good grades but now is a little bit quieter in class, but not noticeably quiet.

Farkle went off to College, but didn't go to any high up ones - but to a local college one with his friends. That was his choice, and his alone. He took up photography as a hobbie and enjoys doing TFP shoots, as well as a few paid ones. He lowkey has been thinking of changing his major.

everything was set for stuart minkus, he had just married jennifer and his business looked like it would thrive. but, a few months later he and his wife started fighting, and that was when she dropped the bomb, she was pregnant. they both thought that maybe having this child would help them over come their differences, but…as it seemed it didn’t. no, they still fought and, just after their first born was brought into the world, stuart’s world of business came crashing down. he lost all his money, and jennifer’s parents refused to lend them any money because she thought she had a child way to young. they managed to keep their roof over their head for a month before the money started to really dry up. jennifer started looking for a job, stuart kept getting job interviews but always refused to work for anything less then 20 dollars an hour. because he felt he was worth that.farkle, that was their oldest child, when he was one he was left alone in the rundown apartment as his father left him for a job interview, while his mother was at work. it wasn’t until the next day that someone picked him up and cradled him to sleep. his mother, knew what stuart had done, he had run. he abandoned their child because he felt he was worth more then what he was being given. some parts of jennifer was glad, because she wouldn’t want her son learning to have that kind of ego.three years old, and he notices as his mother’s belly grows bigger. the they’re moving into a new home, this one with more bedrooms. a familiar man has been coming around, he’s too young to know that was his father. when he’s seven he’s got three more siblings, brother and two sisters. he finds himself looking after them while their mother is out. sometimes she’d bring home men, and something in him told him to stay with his younger siblings on those nights so he did. he would gather them all into his room until morning passed.fourteen and his mother is barely home, and when she is, she’s off her face. she became an addict after the last time their father walked into their life only to walk out again, and that was three years ago. over the years, farkle has become accustomed to barely eating, giving all the food to feed his siblings. he would rather they ate then he did, what he didn’t know was this started the eating disorder that he formed. when he knows his siblings are at a friends place, he’s going out to parties, finding any substance to numb the hollowness within himself.at school, he’s doing very well, in fact he’s at the top of all his classes. finishing every test before time was up. he excelled in class, but was ever so quiet in the room.
  DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE    —   AU. 
honestly, he never meant to get into the substance. always told to stay away from it, drugs are bad for you. hugs before drugs and all that crap. but, one day he was just stressing too much and was with one of the other people in his chemistry class, they were studying at one of their places. smackle wasn’t a show, her parents didn’t like the neighbourhood. and farkle’s parents weren’t around a lot, so how were they suppose to know. but that day, one of them offered him something in a syringe, they said it could get the stress away. and he was honestly up for anything to help relieve this stress from everything.what he didn’t know what that the substance was addictive and it helped him escape his reality one called a life. it helped him forget his insecurities, forget how his parents abandon him a lot. forgot that he’s second choice to even his own girlfriend. it just helped him and he got addicted fast.his mood changed slowly as he got addicted, and he got more thinner as time went by. everytime someone tried to bring any of this up, he would just shrug and lie, never looking them in the eye when he spoke. he doesn’t need anyone to find out his little secret right?he and smackle broke up quite quickly. and eventually, he and maya fell into a friends with benefits type of relationship. both falling for the other but never saying anything because they were content with their relationship and how it was. they did do drugs together, and just were pretty much a package deal a lot of the time. where farkle was so was maya and vice versa.but, eventually - they did end up getting sober, after trying on and off - going to separate rehabs to recover. farkle in his treatment also was treated for his eating disorder. after they got better, farkle and maya end up moving in together and talking out their feelings and doing their best to stay sober..
